My name is Mara Galvao. Brazillian born. Self taught artist.

My paintings are created through an intuitive and deeply personal process. I work without a fixed plan, allowing color, texture, and movement to guide each piece as it unfolds. The act of painting becomes a dialogue — responding to emotion, memory, and instinct — until the work reaches a place of balance and completion.

Color plays a central role in my practice. Influenced by my Brazilian roots, my palette and mark-making echo the vitality of nature, the rhythm of music, and the joyful energy of cultural celebration. These influences surface organically, infusing the work with movement, warmth, and a sense of freedom.

I create abstract paintings that invite connection rather than interpretation. Each piece is meant to be experienced emotionally — to resonate differently with every viewer. My hope is that the work lives with its collector as a source of energy, reflection, and presence, continuing its story through the personal connection it inspires.
